Houston MediaSource is open to all Houston area residents.
We teach you how to make TV.
Then, you have use of our equipment to produce a TV show.
Finally we cablecast it on HMS-TV, Houston’s Public Access Channel.
It’s easy to start. Follow these 3 steps.
Come to a FREE Orientation. This is a 30-45 minute informational session. All of your questions will be answered and you will be given a tour of the HMS facility. We have Orientations every Monday night at 6:00 pm sharp (excluding holidays). HMS is located at 410 Roberts Street at Harrisburg in the Greater East End District of Houston.
Pay applicable annual producer fees. Your yearly producer fee covers administration costs, producer mixers/meetings, mailings, and special events. Annual Producer Fee Schedule
Register and complete Media Literacy Class. Media Lit is a two hour class offered at least once a month. We teach you audience analysis, thematic techniques, preproduction, live show production, explain the HMS-TV rules and regulations and how to turn in your television shows for programming on the channel.
